Description
Aluminized steel tubing is a mild steel tube that has been hot-dip coated on both sides with an aluminum-silicone alloy. This process creates a strong bond between the steel tube and the aluminum alloy coating. Aluminized steel has excellent heat and corrosion resistance making it ideal for temperature applications lower than 800 °C (1,470 °F). It is commonly used for automotive exhaust components, exhaust tube, exhaust pipe, heat exchangers in residential furnaces, commercial rooftop HVAC units, automotive mufflers.

- You can think of the tubing with the ID end as the female end of the tubing and the OD end as the male end. The OD will fit inside the ID.
Application
Aluminized steel’s heat shield makes it an ideal, cost-effective choice for fabrications exposed to punishing temperatures: automotive exhaust, plus HVAC and equipment, such as water heaters, furnaces heat exchangers, space heaters, ranges and appliances of multiple sizes. It also performs nicely against exposure to salts.
